Springfield Oaks

Springfield Oaks County Park's 332 acres is home to the annual Oakland County Fair, the historic Ellis Barn, the Springfield Oaks Golf Course and a Community Service Garden.

  • Large activity center and surrounding grounds in northwest part of Oakland County in Davisburg 
  • Home of annual Oakland County Fair
  • The historic Ellis Barn moved to Springfield Oaks in 2005. The barn project, winner of a National Parks and Recreation Association Preservation Award, will be a welcome addition to the proposed Oakland County Equestrian Center. A barn festival is held each October.
  • Ellis Barn volunteers are needed! Contact Kathy Thomas at the Wint Nature Center, 248.625.6473, for details.
  • Members of the 4-H Gardeners Restore Our World club (GROW) along with Michigan State Extension Service Master Gardeners, have taken on the project of establishing an 1800s Heritage Garden around the Ellis Barn.
  • Special "Horse Fan" Badge Day for Jr. Girl Scouts is offered at Springfield Oaks in October and May! Learn about equipment, safety etc. No riding.
  • Community Garden produces food for the Food Bank of Oakland County as well as flowers and tree seedlings for use at the parks. The garden is worked by volunteer Master Gardeners and 52nd District Court Weekend and Weekday Alternative Misdemeanants.
  • Ample space in exhibit hall for art and antique shows, sports card shows, wedding receptions and dances
  • Multipurpose room for banquets, seminars and reunions. Call 858.0916 for reservations and information.

During the month of May, Oakland County Parks & Recreation Commission’s testing consultant, Soils, Material & Engineers will be completing proactive geotechnical testing of the Davisburg/Mill Pond Dam.  This testing may result in temporary lane closures on Davisburg Road during business hours.
