Since 1966, the 13 Oakland County Parks offer more than 65 miles of trails and natural landscapes for year-round recreation, including five golf courses, two waterparks, and two nature centers. Unique recreation opportunities include Mobile Recreation and dog parks.

Oakland County Parks is committed to providing safe, clean, accessible facilities and services to the community. Charged with the management and stewardship of more than 6,700 acres of public land, including some significant and rare natural areas, our goal is to protect and sustain these areas for future generations. The incorporation of energy-efficient practices in all facets of parks operations and management is vital to the future of the parks system..


Take a Hike on Our Trails
Walking, running and biking are heart-healthy!Whether you seek a leisurely family hike down a rail trail or are passing through a historic neighborhood on your morning commute to work, Oakland County has it all! The emerging network of trails, pathways, and blueways traverses much of the 910 square miles of the county. Many of the sidewalks in the southeastern portion of the county link neighborhoods to parks, schools, commercial districts, and town centers. Check out the trails at a glance.
