Dog licenses can be purchased through the mail, in person at the Oakland County Adoption Center or on-line. All dogs over the age of four months require a license in Oakland County. In order to purchase a license, a valid rabies certificate must be presented. Dogs are required to wear the license at all times. Cats do not require a license.
 
One-year license fees are:
Spayed/neutered - $7.50/$6.75 Senior Citizen Rate*
Unaltered - $15/$13.50 Senior Citizen Rate*  *65 and older
 
The hours for purchasing a license at the Oakland Pet Adoption Center, 1700 Brown Road in Auburn Hills are:
 
Monday & Friday
10 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday
10 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Saturdays
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
