Oakland County Parks and Recreation, Water Resources Commissioner, Planning and Economic Development, Health, Waste, and Michigan State University Extension Services all work together to coordinate Environmental Stewardship and Conservation efforts across the region.

Serving citizens, business, local organizations and volunteer efforts, conservation efforts in Oakland County are the result of partnerships and cooperation.

Oakland County is proud of its leadership in preserving parkland and creating recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The stewardship of remaining natural areas is a critical challenge for the future preservation of natural and cultural resources in Oakland County, and can be vital to the health, safety, and quality of life of Oakland County residents.

Natural Shoreline Training
The Michigan Certified Natural Shoreline Professional Training and Certification Program offers three days of classroom instruction and a one-day field exercise designed to equip professional landscape and marine contractors to design, implement and maintain natural shoreline landscapes on inland lakes.
