Community Profile

Groveland Township Welcome SignIf you love trees, hills, winding roads and lakes, Groveland Township might seem like the perfect location. Nestled in the north end of Oakland County, Groveland Township has long been home to residents who place high value on the rural country life style. Established in 1838, the community has maintained its original value while providing its residents convenient commutes to jobs in Oakland and Genesee counties.

Year-round recreational opportunities abound in Groveland. The Holly Recreation Area and Groveland Oaks County Park provide areas for camping, swimming, fishing, and hiking. The Michigan Renaissance Festival brings a unique style of entertainment to the area for six weekends from mid- August through September. Each autumn, Oak Haven Farm holds its Harvest Days, which include hayrides, pumpkin picking, cider, donuts and fun. During the winter, you can choose between downhill skiing at Mt. Holly, or cross-country skiing on those same hills you hiked during spring, summer and fall. This residential community of caring citizens is best exemplified by our township motto, adopted in 1996, "People and Nature Living Together in Harmony."

Groveland Township is a quiet community where quality of life is important. Come visit our township. The people are friendly, the air is clean, and the scenery is beautiful.
