Community Profile

Lake Orion homeDeveloped in the early 20th century as summer resort destination, the Village of Lake Orion is now a thriving community throughout the year. Located in northern Oakland County, this 1.3 square-mile community is bisected by M-24 and home to almost 3,000 people.

Situated on the banks of Lake Orion, this beautiful village features recreational swimming, boating and fishing. Each summer, the Orion Historical Society's summer lake tour highlights historic homes, land marks and Lake Orion’s famous disappearing island, which surfaces and submerges intermittently. Additional village amenities include the Paint Creek Trail, several parks, the Orion Senior Center and the Orion Art Center.

Downtown Lake Orion's historic central business district features specialty stores, restaurants, services and a variety of community events. Lake Orion’s natural amenities combined with its dedication to arts, culture and historic preservation make it an exceptional community for both residents and visitors.
