Founded by Amos Orton in 1848, Ortonville is a friendly community that enjoys a rich heritage and abundant natural amenities. Located in northern Oakland County, this 1 square-mile village is bisected by M-15 and home to over 1,500 people.
Downtown Ortonville offers a wide variety of specialty shops and services. Throughout the year, the village hosts several events, including Creekfest, “Cruise to Ortonville” Car Show, September Fest, Christmas in the Village, and Beets, Beats & Eats.
Village recreational amenities include three municipal parks, a historic grist mill, and a skate park. The 5,400 acre Ortonville Recreation Area features camping, hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, hunting and horseback riding.
