Video: Pontiac Downtown Revitalization
Pontiac is the county seat of Oakland County. First settled in 1818, Pontiac incorporated as a city in 1861. Almost 150 years later, the city has evolved into a diverse blend of residential, business, automotive, industrial and high-tech companies.
Pontiac is home to General Motors, three major hospitals, a revitalized downtown nightclub district, the Oakland County Pioneer & Historical Society, an 18-hole golf course, several lakes and parks, and historically unique homes and office buildings.
