Named after the legendary English tree, the City of Royal Oak is conveniently located in southeast Oakland County. Royal Oak is close to seven major thoroughfares and home to 60,000 people.
This 12 square-mile community features tree lined neighborhoods, the Detroit Zoo, Oakland Community College, 48 city parks, two nine-hole golf courses, the Royal Oak farmers market, senior community centers and the John Lindell ice arena.
Each summer, the city serves as the epicenter of the annual Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise, attracting over a million classic car buffs.
