Settled in 1873, the city of South Lyon is a charming community surrounded by natural beauty, yet conveniently located in south western Oakland County, between I-96 and US-23. This 3.5 square-mile city is home to picturesque neighborhoods, abundant recreational opportunities, a thriving downtown and over 11,000 people.
Downtown South Lyon offers shoppers a pedestrian friendly environment filled with a variety of unique shops, services and the historic South Lyon Hotel.
City parks host several events throughout the year and boast amenities such as playscapes, baseball diamonds, an outdoor skating rink, picnic areas and historic landmarks. Additional recreational amenities include a 4.5 mile paved pedestrian bicycle path, Lyon Oaks County Park, the Huron Valley Trail, several area golf courses, Island Lake State Recreation Area and Kensington Metropark.
