Oakland County Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified candidates to provide outstanding customer service to nearly two million visitors annually. 

The parks system provides seasonal employment at two campgrounds, three dog parks, five golf courses and two waterparks, and supports special events and activities throughout Oakland County.

Seasonal Program Specialist
Have previous leadership experience? Assist full-time staff with managing the operation and coordination of park facilities or special events. Oversee staff schedules, cash management and inventory. Manage customer interactions by training staff, answering questions, resolving concerns and coordinating large-scale activities and events. Provide expertise in a specialized program area to serve a variety of park patrons and event attendees. 18 years or older may apply.

Program Leader
Want to get paid for having fun? Provide year round recreational activities in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings for participants of all ages. Work in a team setting to plan, implement and evaluate programs for specialized program areas and populations, mobile recreation, outdoor
adventure and special events. 16 years and older may apply.

Parks Helper
Ready to work outdoors? Provide support to park operations, golf courses, and maintenance functions by assisting higher level employees involved in the general maintenance and operations of the County Park facilities. Year-round opportunities available at campgrounds, dog parks, dayuse
facilities, golf courses or waterparks. 18 years or older may apply.

Comfortable, confident in the water? Ensure guest safety at either waterparks or beaches by supervising swimming areas, enforcing rules, performing first aid and responding to emergency situations. Support customer service efforts by performing general cleaning and maintenance tasks. Lifeguards are trained by Oakland County Parks and Recreation and must participate in regular in-service training to maintain lifeguard skills. 16 years and older may apply. Lifeguard flyer.

Food Service Worker
Is hospitality your thing? Opportunities in concessions areas at two waterparks and one campground will focus on providing food service to customers taking orders at the point-of-sale, food preparation and delivery, and maintaining facility cleanliness. 18 years and older may apply.
