  Construction began in late April on several new additions to the park. Included will be a concession/restroom facility, picnic shelter/pavilion, two playgrounds, utilities and infrastructure improvements, and a new parking lot. The anticipated substantial construction completion date is late October 2012. Playgrounds and surfacing have already been installed; and building construction and earthwork for site concrete and walkways is ongoing. The park is open during construction.
