Groveland Oaks

Groveland Oaks County Park is a summer family favorite, with picnicking, swimming and family camping on 362 acres near Holly.

  • Daily pass or annual vehicle permit required  
  • Largest children's playscape in the Oakland County Parks system
  • Sandy beach and swimming on Stewart Lake  
  • Spiraling waterslide splashes down into lake (fee required)
  • Concessions and bathhouse building
  • Rowboat, pedalboat and kayak rentals

  • Paved Thread Creek Trail (3/4 mile)
  • 18-hole Mini Golf Course (fee required) and skateboard area
  • Three islands for group outings and parties
  • Campground includes individual modern sites, group camping areas, cabins and organized activities and entertainment for campers

    • Groveland Oaks is the first park in Michigan to be certified by the Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program.  MTESP certification requires the park to exceed requirements of environmental laws, protect water resources  and enhance the maintenance of turfgrass and open spaces.  See other ways the Oakland County Parks is protecting the environment.

    Please note late-season hours and dates for beaches:
    Due to staff availability, there are reduced hours of operation at the beaches in late August and early September. Late-season dates and hours are as follows:

    Aug. 18-23: 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
    Aug. 24-Sept. 3: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
