Rose Oaks

Rose Oaks Park preserves 640 acres of gently rolling open meadows and wooded uplands, including approximately 200 acres of valuable wetlands and frontage on several glacial lakes within the site.

  • Daily pass or annual vehicle permit required (please purchase prior to arrival, as permits are not available at the park)
  • Designated parking areas on Fish Lake Road (equestrian trailers permitted) and Buckhorn Lake Road (no equestrian trailer parking) 
  • Park is undeveloped; fishing is allowed
  • Non-motorized boats and electric-motor boats are allowed; carry-in only
  • Approximately 5 miles of trail accommodate hiking, recreational bicycling, equestrian, and cross-country skiing (ungroomed) uses
  • Discover the exciting sport of geocaching at Rose Oaks!

Trail Updates

Oakland County Parks and Recreation has completed the majority of Phase I of the natural areas accessibility improvements project at Rose Oaks County Park. The approach to the boardwalk/fishing pier on Cogger Lake will be completed by Spring 2014.

Approximately 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset, or as posted at entrance.
