Ice Fishing

Fish year-round at Oakland County Parks!

Ice fishing is available when weather permits at Addison Oaks, Independence Oaks, Orion Oaks and Rose Oaks.

Ice fishing is permitted on Upper Bushman Lake at Independence Oaks—North (catch and release only).  Please note that OAKLAND COUNTY PARKS DOES NOT MONITOR ICE CONDITIONS OR ICE THICKNESS ON UPPER BUSHMAN LAKE. ICE FISHING IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

During the ice fishing season, anglers can most commonly find northern pike, bluegill, yellow perch and carp at Oakland County Parks. Fish found year-round at the county parks include bass, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed sunfish and walleye.

Fishing at county parks is available in designated areas in accordance with the laws of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment. All shanties must comply with the State of Michigan Fishing Laws.
