Limited public archery hunting is allowed at Highland Oaks, Lyon Oaks, Orion Oaks and county parks. Limited public hunting is allowed at Addison Oaks East only (East of Walker Road, north of Romeo Road and West of Rochester Road; parking lot is on Romeo Road east of Walker Road.)
Annual Vehicle Permit or Daily Park Pass is required. Hunters must follow Michigan Department of Natural Resources regulations and hunt only in designated areas. In addition, several Oakland County Parks rules further govern hunting activity at these parks.
2010-2011 Archery Hunting Dates
Firearms deer hunting is permitted only when authorized by the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission.

Deer Archery Hunting is permitted Oct. 1 - Nov. 14 and Dec. 1 - Jan. 1.
Deer Archery Hunting is permitted Nov. 15 - 30, but hunters must comply with State of Michigan requirements to wear hunters' orange clothing.
Hunters are HIGHLY encouraged to take adult does to help manage the population. For best management practices, take bucks with at least three points on one side, a spread out to the ears and medium or heavy base.
Successful hunters are asked to fill out a Deer Harvest Form and report harvested deer to the Oakland County Parks Natural Resources Specialist at 248-858-1726.
Controlled Deer Hunts
A lottery-based controlled deer hunt is held each year at Addison Oaks and Independence Oaks county parks. The hunts are part of an ecosystem-based approach to natural resources management within the parks system.
