Picnic Shelter & Facility Rentals

Perfect picnic spots are just a short drive away. Oakland County Parks has seven locations for special occasions such as company picnics, family reunions, birthday parties and more.

All picnic facilities offer:

  • Shelters & tents for groups of 20- 1,000.
  • Sites can accommodate 20-800+.
  • Large outdoor cooking grills, sand volleyball and horseshoes pits.
  • Special packages for Mobile Recreation "fun on wheels" units. Choose from a Climbing Tower, Inflatable Bouncers and more.

Special Waterford Oaks Waterpark rates available for summer facility rentals at Lookout Lodge, Activity Center, Paradise Pavilion and Parkview Shelter.  Please call for more information and requirements. Handy reference chart.

Lookout Lodge is available for rent year-round. Features a fireplace, eating/meeting room and food preparation area, modern restrooms, deck, scenic overlook and select audio/video equipment.

Features Ragin' Rapids (group raft ride), The Wave (wave-action pool) and The Big Bucket (children's interactive water playground); large grills, sand volleyball courts, concessions, bathhouse with showers and lockers, lounge chairs and tubes. (based on availability, first-come first-served basis, tubes or chairs may not be held). Certified lifeguards on duty.

Important waterpark shelter reservation information: Full payment of shelter is due at the time the reservation is booked. Reservations will not be held while waiting for payment. A reservation is not booked or complete, meaning you do not have a reservation, until:

  • All appropriate payments have been made
  • A contract has been generated
  • A confirmation number is given to the person making the reservation

All reservations must be completely booked a minimum of five full business days (Mon. - Fri., 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) before the desired reservation date. No exceptions.

Note on shelter reservations:

The waterpark shelter reservation start and end times are listed on the reservation receipt under "Time." It is expected that at least one representative from the reserving party will be present at the waterpark and monitoring the shelter at the start of the reservation time. Waterpark staff will ensure that signs are posted to signify that the shelter is reserved. However, waterpark staff will NOT be responsible for watching the shelter to prevent anyone from occupying the space. If there are no members from the reserving party present at the shelter 2 hours after the reservation begins, the reservation will be considered cancelled. All reservation signs will be taken down and the shelter will become available for anyone to utilize. No refund of the shelter reservation fee will be available.

All shelter reservations are subject to the Reservation Terms and Conditions. Early/late season and holiday restrictions apply.
